Macdonald's Nasi Lemak Burger Adventure!
One of the few rare post I make about chain outlet's food. This time Macdonalds launches its new locally-inspired menu in conjunction with the Singapore Food Festival 2017! Whats more is that it is only in Singapore!
The main item on the show is the "Nasi Lemak" burger! It's such a creative local twist to add to a burger! The "Nasi Lemak" burger which consists of a coconut-flavoured chicken thigh patty, a fried egg, caramelised onions and crunchy cucumber slices topped with spicy-sweet sambal sauce and served between semolina buns.
The other items featured is the Chendol Macflurry, Coconut Pie, three types of Chendol Ice-cream cones (chendol melaka cone, chendol melaka twist and chendol melaka chococone) and a kueh salat cake (pandan sponge cake with glutinous rice layer) Two drinks are also in this local fusion menu and they are the Bandung Mcfizz and the Pandan Coco Frappe! I'm honestly really excited about the Bandung Mcfizz as I'm a HUGE bandung fan! from Bandung drink to Bandung ice-cream, anything Bandung I'll love it! Plus the Criss-cut fries are also making their comeback too!
I purchased the Nasi Lemak Burger Feast for $9.00 , it consists of the burger itself, the Bandung Mcfizz, normal fries and the Coconut Pie. With the first bite of the burger, I found it tasting really aromatic, the chicken thigh patty really tasted like the chicken you get with typical Nasi Lemak! That was really surprising in a good way! What's more is ask the flavours in the burger match with each other and that it all tasted very much like the real Nasi Lemak! The Bandung Mcfizz is also a pleasant surprise as somehow they managed to blend the milky taste and the carbonation together in harmony! However the Coconut Pie is not my cup of tea as it tastes bland and simply just not appetising.
Overall , I would give it a 8/10 and I would most certainly try it again!!! Macdonalds is really stepping up their game and I can't wait for what's next to come!
